After purchasing a large $5.00 pack of fresh chives, i realized that it was a mistake. Too much chives. What will one person do with that much? Make green rice!
This rice is herby and chivy. We all loved it.
Green rice Ingredients:
- 2 cups cooked parboiled long grain rice (make sure it is hot)
- 1 cup chopped fresh chives
- 1 cup mixed veggies (carrot, corn, green peas)
- 1/2 cup shelled deveined raw shrimps
- 1 green bell pepper (chopped)
- 2 tsp ms. dash
- 1 tsp curry
- 1 tsp thyme
- 3 tbsp olive oil
Method:
- Add all ingredients except rice into the pot and cook for about 7 mins.
- Add the rice into the same pot while stirring to combine all ingredients.
- Cook for additional 3-5 minutes.
Enjoy with Shrimp Skewers
Shrimp Skewers Ingredients
- 15 Large shelled deveined Shrimps
- 1 tsp “Slap Ya Mama” seasoning
- 1 tsp dill weed
- 3 tbsp Oil
Method
- Add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
- Arrange 5 shrimps each on a skewer.
- Heat a griddle/grill until fiery hot.
- Place each skewer on the grill and cook until both sides are cooked .(pink/white) be careful not to overcook.
- Enjoy with Green rice, or with a salad.
